Deicing at FAI

  1. Hello Ute and Friends,
Greetings from Paeroa, New Zealand-half a world away from Kaktovik in the far north of Alaska. It is early autumn in N.Z. The temperatures are still quite high eg 25 C. today which is 77 F. quite a bit warmer than in Kaktovik I think.
I am sure Ute has told you something about about our country in the South Pacific Ocean. We have active volcanoes as well as many sleeping mountain volcanoes. Ute was very brave and rolled down into a sleeping crater in 1995. She screamed all the way down the crumbling rock slope. I was scared she would wake the mountain from its sleep while we were in there!! Ute is also a famous golf player. She probably hasn't told you about that as she is very modest about her sporting skills.
Love and best wishes to you all.
    From Mike Cotter.
